According to data from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (as of 6:00 p.m. on July 31), out of approximately 1,424,000 eligible recipients, about 1,307,000 have received the coupons.
The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon is a practical policy measure designed to revitalize local businesses and restore consumer sentiment, which has been dampened by high inflation and other factors.
Looking at the application rates by issuance method for the first round of Daejeon City's consumption coupons, applications through credit and debit cards accounted for the highest proportion at 91.0%, followed by Daejeon Sarang Card at 4.8%, and prepaid cards at 4.2%. By recipient category, approximately 11,000 were from near-poverty and single-parent families, 74,000 were basic livelihood security recipients, and 1,222,000 were other citizens.
Citizens who have not yet applied can do so through credit or debit cards, Daejeon Sarang Card, or prepaid cards until September 12. All consumption coupon benefits must be used by November 30.
An official from Daejeon City stated, "Since the prepaid cards received in the first round can be recharged and used in the second round, we ask that you keep your cards."
