Sejong Southern Police Station Tracks and Urgently Arrests Suspect at Cafe During Dinner Hours
The Sejong Southern Police Station swiftly apprehended a suspect involved in intimate partner violence through coordinated investigation and psychological profiling.
According to the police on August 1, the suspect, Mr. A (29), who assaulted and threatened a woman in her 20s in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon at approximately 6:29 p.m. on July 31, was urgently arrested at a cafe in Boram-dong, Sejong City on the same day.
Mr. A is accused of assaulting and threatening to kill the victim, Ms. B (24), whom he had previously dated, after learning that she had undergone an abortion following pregnancy, and then fleeing the scene.
In response to a request for cooperation from the Daejeon Metropolitan Police Agency, officers were dispatched urgently. Taking into account that the incident occurred during dinner time, the police focused their search on the Boram-dong area, reasoning that the suspect might be in a commercial district with many restaurants.
During the search, they located a man matching the suspect's description and apprehended Mr. A.

A police official stated, "Crimes involving personal relationships carry a high risk of recidivism and can escalate from assault to murder, making an initial response critical," and added, "We will continue to respond firmly to crimes of this nature."
