Minister of National Defense Ahn Gyu-baek laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and held a meeting with representatives from the Korean defense industry operating locally during his first official overseas trip to Poland since taking office.
The Ministry of National Defense announced on August 1 that Minister Ahn visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Saxon Garden in Warsaw, Poland, and laid a wreath in the afternoon of July 31 (local time). The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was established to honor the spirits of the unnamed soldiers who died fighting for Poland's independence.
During the wreath-laying ceremony, the Polish military honor guard stood in formation to pay their respects, and Minister Ahn laid a wreath shaped like the Taegeukgi, the national flag of Korea.

Subsequently, Minister Ahn Gyu-baek held a meeting with representatives of Korean defense companies operating in Poland. The Ministry of National Defense stated, "Through this meeting, Minister Ahn encouraged our companies in the region, listened to their suggestions, and promised swift governmental action and active support."
