Dongjak-gu Hosts Relay Commemorative Events for New Office Opening
Dongjak-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Ilha) will host a variety of events inside the new district office building throughout August to commemorate its opening.
Last month, the district office was relocated from Noryangjin to Jangseungbaegi for the first time in 45 years. To celebrate the opening of the new office building, diverse programs will be held in various parts of the building throughout this month.

View original imageOn August 4, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM, an eco-friendly experience booth will be set up in the west piloti corridor of the building. For approximately 200 residents, hands-on programs will be offered to promote the culture of renewable energy and carbon neutrality, including making cotton candy and popcorn with bicycles, decorating eco-bags with fabric markers, and participating in an energy-saving OX quiz.
From August 4 to 30, the first-floor lobby of the new office will feature exhibitions and performances by students and clubs of Dongjak Residents’ College. The event includes an adult literacy poetry exhibition (August 4-5), a watercolor painting exhibition (August 11-12), a calligraphy exhibition (August 4-5, 11-12), digital drawing and goods sharing (August 18), and an orchestra performance (August 30).

The district will also utilize spaces within the new office to offer various programs that residents can participate in, such as cultural performances, lectures, and hands-on activities. These include the Dongjak busking performance, a trot concert, a Silver Orchestra concert, special lectures by renowned doctors, lectures by child education experts, educational programs by rare animal specialists, and a filial piety pop-up cafe.
