Chungnam Province Launches Marine Industry Promotion Committee
Strengthening Public-Private Cooperation to Foster Future Growth Engines
On July 31, Chungnam Province announced the launch of the "1st Chungnam Province Marine Industry Promotion Committee" to foster the marine industry, which is emerging as a future growth engine.
On this day, the province formed the committee and began its official activities at the provincial government’s main conference hall, with the participation of around 30 people, including private sector experts and public officials.
The committee consists of 17 experts in various fields, including marine policy, fisheries, ports, and marine ecological environment. It will serve as a practical advisory body for discovering new marine industries, improving living conditions in island regions, and strengthening marine safety and welfare policies.
Jeon Hyeongsik, Vice Governor for Political Affairs, stated, "The marine industry is a new growth engine for Chungnam," and added, "We will create tangible results that residents can feel through public-private cooperation."

Meanwhile, in December of last year, the province announced its "Marine and Fisheries Future Vision," which plans to invest 13.6 trillion won by 2035. The launch of this committee is expected to lay the foundation for public-private cooperation to realize that plan.
