Hanam City Provides Emergency Cooling Expense Support of 50,000 Won to Vulnerable Groups
Support for 6,870 Households Among Basic Livelihood Security Recipients and the Near-Poverty Class
Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyunjae) announced on July 31 that it will provide emergency support for cooling expenses to 6,870 households among the local basic livelihood security recipients and the near-poverty class, granting 50,000 won per household to help vulnerable groups stay cool during the summer.
The recipients of this support are basic livelihood security recipients (for livelihood, medical, housing, and education) and the near-poverty class who were registered in Hanam City as of July 17. The total budget of 343.5 million won is fully funded by the Gyeonggi Province Disaster Relief Fund.
The payment will be made by depositing cash directly into the welfare benefit accounts of each household. For households already receiving cash welfare benefits, the payment will be made automatically within July without the need for a separate application.
Households without a welfare benefit account or those using seizure-protected accounts, making account verification difficult, can apply according to the guidance of the local administrative welfare center. Once the application is completed, the cooling expense support will be provided sequentially from August to October.
Applications will be accepted until September 30. Applicants should visit their local administrative welfare center with their ID and a copy of their bankbook, or apply by phone.
