Governor Kim Kwangyeol of Yeongdeok County Makes All-Out Effort to Secure National Funding During Visit to Ministry of Economy and Finance
Explanation and Requests for Local Projects Including Disaster Prevention and Expansion of Tourism Infrastructure
Kim Kwangyeol, the Governor of Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province, visited the Ministry of Economy and Finance in Sejong City on July 29, accompanied by key department heads, to request national funding support for major local issues.

View original imageThe main agenda items discussed included disaster prevention, environmental improvement, and the expansion of tourism infrastructure in the region. Governor Kim and his delegation met with key officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and provided detailed explanations regarding the necessity, urgency, and regional impact of these projects.
For next year, Yeongdeok County has proposed a total of 77 projects requiring national funding, amounting to 815.7 billion won. Of these, 43 are new projects, totaling 388.7 billion won.
Among the projects proposed during this visit are: the Cheonjeon District Comprehensive Flood Risk Management Project (33.5 billion won); Yeongdeok Water Purification Plant Improvement Project (44.4 billion won); Small-Scale Sewage Treatment Facility Separation Project (27 billion won); Namjeong Public Sewage Treatment Facility Expansion Project (12.3 billion won); Yeongdeok County Old Sewage Pipeline Maintenance Project (21.7 billion won); and the East Coast National Trail Construction Project (19 billion won).
In addition, Governor Kim requested active cooperation and support at the national level for the recovery of daily life for residents and the rebuilding of the tourism industry following the wildfire in North Gyeongsang Province at the end of March.
Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "We are doing our utmost to establish a close cooperative system with the Ministry of Economy and Finance to ensure that essential projects for the region are reflected in the government budget." He added, "In particular, we will make every effort to secure national funding for the future of the region by working in cooperation with local National Assembly member Park Hyungsoo, who is currently serving as a secretary on the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts."
