Gijang County in Busan: Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park's Customized Programs Receive Positive Response from Residents
Gijang County (Governor Jung Jongbok) announced on July 31 that Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park, the first urban agriculture park in Busan, is receiving an enthusiastic response from residents thanks to its customized urban agriculture programs.
Cheolma Urban Agriculture Park, which officially opened in April, offers a variety of urban agriculture programs that people of all ages, from children to seniors, can participate in.
In the first half of the year, various customized programs were held, including the healing garden program for seniors, "Our Neighborhood Seniors' Healing Garden," the "Farm to Table Healthy Cooking Class" where participants cook with crops grown in the garden, and the "Family Flower Basket Workshop" for families to enjoy horticultural activities together. In addition, citizen-leased gardens and educational programs for children's public gardens were also offered, expanding opportunities for residents to participate in urban agriculture.
Starting in August, new classes will be added, such as the second half of the "Our Neighborhood Seniors' Healing Garden" program, an aromatherapy-based healing program, and the "Green Prescription Program" designed to revitalize both body and mind. Applications for these programs can be submitted online through the Gijang County Office website starting August 4.
