The Daehwa Badminton Court has been ordered to cease operations due to flooding of the underground fire safety mechanical equipment, and urgent repairs and replacements are required.
In response, Chair Kim Unnam personally presided over a meeting with relevant departments and agencies to discuss practical solutions.
At this meeting, which included officials from the Goyang City Sports Policy Division, representatives of the Goyang Badminton Association, executives and coaches from the Daehwa Badminton Club, Chair Kim Unnam sought candid opinions from the coaching staff, who have been directly affected by the suspension of the facility, and listened to the realities on the ground.
He also made direct requests for cooperation to related agencies, including the Ilsan Fire Station, and took an active role in facilitating smooth communication among the institutions involved.
In addition, realistic alternatives were proposed, such as temporary use of nearby gymnasiums and opening up sports facilities at local schools, with discussions focused on minimizing short-term inconvenience.
