Busan Office of Education Appoints Four New Temporary Board Members to Jeongseonhakwon
Expectations for Prompt Normalization of the Foundation
and Stabilization of School Operations
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Seokjun) has newly appointed four temporary board members to School Foundation Jeongseonhakwon, which had vacancies, in order to expedite the normalization of the foundation.
This personnel change was made following the resignation of the previous four temporary board members. In June, the Private School Dispute Mediation Committee (Sabuin) postponed the appointment once. At that time, Sabuin requested the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education to gather a wide range of opinions from stakeholders such as faculty, alumni associations, and parent organizations, and to recommend additional candidates.
Accordingly, the Office of Education reflected the opinions of members of schools affiliated with Jeongseonhakwon and prepared the final plan for the appointment of temporary board members. After the Sabuin’s resolution in July, four new temporary board members were confirmed.
The newly appointed temporary board members are individuals with extensive experience and expertise in the fields of education and administration. They are expected to contribute to resolving conflicts within Jeongseonhakwon and to the normalization of the foundation.
The Office of Education also plans to request the appointment of one temporary board member whose term expires in September and two more who recently resigned, leaving vacancies, to Sabuin in August.
