Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Holds Joint Call with New Japanese Chief, Emphasizes Trilateral Security Cooperation
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Myungsoo held a joint phone call with the new Chief of Staff, Joint Staff of Japan (equivalent to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) to discuss strengthening security cooperation among South Korea, the United States, and Japan.
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff on July 29, Chairman Kim held a joint phone call that day with Yoshida Yoshihide, the outgoing Chief of Staff, Joint Staff, and Uchikura Hiroaki, the incoming Chief of Staff, Joint Staff. The Japanese Chief of Staff, Joint Staff is scheduled to be replaced as of August 1.
