The Boryeong City government announced on the 29th that Mayor Kim met with key officials, including Yoo Byeongseo, Director General for Budget at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Kim Minjae, Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, on the 24th and 28th to request government-level support for Boryeong’s core pending projects.
This visit aimed to reflect Boryeong City's strategic projects in the central government budget, in line with the new policy direction following the launch of the new administration.
Mayor Kim specifically requested focused investment from the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the recovery of the local economy, which has been struggling due to the early closure of coal-fired power plants, for energy transition, and for the development of Boryeong as a marine tourism city.
The proposed projects include: ▲ construction of a new Boryeong Police Training Center ▲ revitalization of the tourism industry in abandoned mining areas ▲ advancement of convenience and safety technologies for future vehicles ▲ establishment of a hydrogen gas turbine test and research center.
