Guri City Council Holds Meeting with Guri Branch of Korea Foodservice Industry Association
In-depth Discussion on Proposals for Supporting Small Business Owners
The Guri City Council in Gyeonggi Province (Chairperson Shin Donghwa) held a meeting with the Guri Branch of the Korea Foodservice Industry Association (Branch Director Kim Hyosang) on July 28 in the council's multi-purpose room. The meeting was attended by more than 20 participants, including Chairperson Shin Donghwa, other members of the Guri City Council, and members of the Foodservice Industry Association.

View original imageDuring the meeting, the participants listened to proposals for support for small business owners, including: support for facility improvements such as installation of odor reduction facilities and provision of quarantine supplies; extension of parking hours at traditional markets and alley-type shopping districts; and additional selection of 'Waguri Matjip' (Waguri Best Restaurants) among stores that have won competitions or have been designated as core stores. There was also an in-depth discussion regarding support measures and future directions.
In his welcoming remarks, Chairperson Shin Donghwa stated, "With the Guri City economy significantly contracted and urgent measures needed to revitalize the local economy, I hope that the livelihood recovery consumption coupons will serve as an opportunity to boost consumer sentiment among citizens." He added, "Through this meeting, the Guri City Council has been able to thoroughly examine what roles it should play in revitalizing the local commercial district."
He went on to emphasize, "We will carefully review today's proposals and actively reflect them in our legislative activities, doing our utmost not only to help foodservice businesses overcome their difficulties but also to contribute to the revitalization of the Guri City economy."
