This agreement outlines cooperation between the city and the education office to jointly conduct the pilot project, aiming to guarantee commuting rights for students in transportation-disadvantaged areas. Previously, the city conducted three rounds of demand surveys and held business consultations with the education office to prepare for the pilot project.
According to the agreement, starting in October, the two organizations will operate four large buses in two areas: Bubal to downtown and Baeksa·Sindun to downtown. The circular bus service will run once in the morning for school arrival and twice in the afternoon for school departure. The city expects that approximately 187 students from 13 schools will benefit from the operation of the school buses.
After monitoring the pilot operation, the two organizations plan to make improvements and officially launch the school bus service in March next year.
