On July 28, approximately 30 people, including members of the Daejeon City Council and staff from the council secretariat, carried out volunteer activities to support recovery efforts in Myeoncheon-myeon, Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do, which recently suffered severe damage due to extreme heavy rainfall.
They assisted with recovery work such as removing sediment from farm warehouses and clearing debris. In addition, to provide some comfort and support for the affected residents as they return to their daily lives, they delivered consolation items worth 1 million won.
Chairperson Jo Wonhui stated, "We decided to carry out this volunteer activity to provide even a small amount of support to residents of neighboring local governments who are suffering due to the extreme heavy rainfall," and added, "The Daejeon City Council will continue to put into practice the spirit of cooperation and unity between regions."
