"Happy to Lend Even a Small Helping Hand"... Actor Ahn Jaewook Volunteers at Flood Recovery Site [Video]
The Korean Red Cross (President Kim Cheolsoo) announced on the 28th that Ahn Jaewook, an actor currently starring in the weekend drama "Eagle Five Brothers" and a promotional ambassador for the Korean Red Cross, participated in volunteer activities on July 26 at the flood recovery site in Sang-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province.
Despite his busy drama schedule, Ambassador Ahn Jaewook voluntarily joined the Korean Red Cross's recovery efforts to offer comfort to residents severely affected by the flood and to support the volunteers working at the recovery site.
On the morning of July 26, when a heat wave warning was in effect, Ambassador Ahn Jaewook arrived at the flood site, assessed the damage firsthand, and said, "The scale of the damage is much greater than what I saw on TV," and added, "I heard that there is a shortage of recovery and meal service volunteers, so I decided to participate to help in any way I could."
Ambassador Ahn Jaewook visited flooded homes and helped remove mud that had flowed into the houses with a shovel, directly participating in the recovery work. Even under the intense heat, he encouraged the volunteers and joined in cleaning up the orchards. This was followed by preparing lunch for 600 people.
After preparing mushrooms, onions, carrots, and other ingredients with Gapyeong area Red Cross volunteers, he also took part in serving meals to military personnel, firefighters, and volunteers involved in the recovery activities. After the meal service, he devotedly helped clean up leftovers and wash trays.
Ambassador Ahn Jaewook said, "I was happy to be able to contribute, even in a small way, alongside the volunteers who came out to help the disaster victims despite the heat wave," and added, "I ask for everyone's attention so that the affected residents can return to their normal daily lives as soon as possible."
Ambassador Ahn Jaewook has served as a promotional ambassador for the Korean Red Cross since 2016 and has actively participated in various volunteer activities both domestically and internationally, including wildfire relief in Gangwon Province, rice cake soup service for the homeless, baking for vulnerable groups, and support for earthquake victims in T?rkiye.
