Kim Kyunghoon, Jung Jiwoong, and Park Kangsan Appointed as New Spokespersons of Seoul Metropolitan Council
Choi Hojung, Chairperson of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, appointed Kim Kyunghoon (People Power Party, Gangseo District 5th Constituency), Jung Jiwoong (People Power Party, Seodaemun District 1st Constituency), and Park Kangsan (Democratic Party, Proportional Representation) as the fourth spokespersons of the 11th Seoul Metropolitan Council to strengthen communication with citizens and cooperation with the media. The appointment letters were presented on the 28th.

View original imageThe spokespersons are responsible for announcing major policies of the Seoul Metropolitan Council and expressing official positions to the public. Their operation is based on the 'Regulations on the Establishment of Spokespersons for the Seoul Metropolitan Council.' The chairperson appoints up to three spokespersons, and their term runs from July 24 of this month until June 30 of next year, ending with the conclusion of the second half of the 11th Council.
Kim Kyunghoon, newly appointed as spokesperson, stated, "I believe the role of spokesperson is more important than ever in terms of the Seoul Metropolitan Council's transparency in dealing with citizens, responsibility for democracy, and revitalizing the people's livelihood economy." He added, "I will fulfill my duties to ensure the integrity of the council and to satisfy the citizens' right to know."
Jung Jiwoong said, "I will faithfully serve as a bridge so that the council can be more loved and trusted by citizens," and pledged, "I will communicate with citizens through actions rather than words, and with substance rather than formality."
Park Kangsan stated, "During the remainder of the 8th popularly elected term, I will continue to listen to the voices of citizens and dedicate myself to making the local council one that brings about changes citizens can truly feel."

Chairperson Choi Hojung emphasized, "All council activities begin and end with communication with citizens; communication is the finishing touch of legislative activities." He added, "I hope that over the next year, the active efforts of the newly appointed spokespersons will effectively convey the achievements of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, making a meaningful difference in the lives of citizens."
