The event included an on-site inspection of the expo venue and working-level consultations among the relevant agencies.
As a result of the consultations, the Korea Forest Service plans to encourage participation in the expo by identifying cities and counties that actively engage in forest policy projects, as well as local governments that possess outstanding forest products. Gyeonggi Province is continuously working to facilitate the participation of related agencies and organizations within the province, and is also discussing ways to attract participation from its sisterhood regional and provincial institutions.
This Forest Expo aims to: ▲ promote the public value of forests; ▲ strengthen interregional cooperation; and ▲ discover citizen-participatory content. It is intended to serve as a forum for the public to discuss responses to the climate crisis, the realization of carbon neutrality, and the direction of forest policies.
Gwangju City has agreed to form an organizing committee for practical decision-making and working-level consultations regarding the operation of the expo, and plans to share progress in each area and prepare measures to address any issues that arise.
