This summer, through the 'Sambok Heat Sharing Campaign,' 626 Red Cross volunteers plan to deliver Samgyetang and check in on approximately 3,785 vulnerable households in Seoul. The 'Sambok Heat Campaign' is a summer support initiative by the Seoul Chapter of the Red Cross, named after the tradition of overcoming the heat with Samgyetang. This year, about 67 million won in donations have been raised for the campaign.
On the 25th, just before Jungbok, about 40 Red Cross volunteers gathered at Jung-gu Office in Seoul, boiling Samgyetang from early morning and preparing watermelon and rice cakes, working up a sweat. The nutritious meal prepared that day was served as a health-boosting meal to 300 seniors who visited Jung-gu Office.
