Samsung Electronics Obtains EU Radio Equipment Directive Cyber Security Certification
Strengthening Global Security Competitiveness
Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it has obtained the Cyber Security Certification for the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) from TUV SUD, a German testing and certification institution. The company explained that this achievement further strengthens its global security competitiveness.
RED is a directive of the European Union (EU) concerning health and safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and the efficient use of radio frequencies. Starting in August, the EU will mandate compliance with RED requirements for products equipped with wireless network functions.

In addition, Samsung Electronics is making efforts to comply with increasingly stringent global security requirements. Last year, the company's self-developed encryption module, CryptoCore, obtained the FIPS 140-3 international certification for cryptographic modules from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
