Moncler Raises Prices Due to Tariffs... Plans Another Hike Next Year
Italian luxury brand Moncler announced that it raised its prices to reflect the tariff costs imposed by the Donald Trump administration in the United States.
According to CNBC on July 24 (local time), Moncler stated in its second-quarter earnings report that it increased prices by a "mid-single-digit" percentage in the second half of 2025 to offset the initial impact of tariffs, and will also raise prices in the first half of 2026. However, the company added that it is waiting for greater clarity on additional U.S. tariffs before establishing its annual pricing strategy for 2026.
Moncler announced that its second-quarter sales decreased by 1% year-on-year to 397 million euros (approximately 640 billion won). This figure falls short of the market expectation of 427 million euros, as compiled by market research firm LSEG.
By major markets, sales in the United States increased by 5%. Sales in the Asian market remained flat, with Japan experiencing a decline due to the weak yen. Sales in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa decreased by 8% due to sluggish tourism.
