It is a system designed to systematically manage experimental data related to Korean medicine and support researchers and experts in Korean medicine, pharmaceuticals, natural products, and other related fields in utilizing this data effectively.
The pilot service has been in operation since June and will be available until the end of this year.
The advisory committee meeting was attended by officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare as well as experts from academia, industry, and research institutes. They engaged in in-depth discussions on the direction for the full-scale operation of KLIMS, which is scheduled for 2026.
In particular, various opinions were presented regarding service advancement and ways to enhance user convenience, leading to substantive discussions on the actual demand for and usability of experimental information on Korean medicine.
Director Kim Sangjin stated, "I hope KLIMS will serve as the foundation for digital innovation in Korean medicine and as the starting point for the Korean medicine AI and big data knowledge ecosystem," adding, "We will continue to provide evidence-based and effective services to enhance the efficiency of research in Korean medicine."
The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development plans to actively gather diverse feedback from the field in order to implement AI-based analysis and utilization features that will be practically beneficial to the Korean medicine sector through integration with AI technology.
