Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises Welcomes Han Seong-sook as Minister... Hopes for New Opportunities
"We Will Actively Support in the Private Sector"
The Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises expressed its expectations regarding the appointment of Han Seong-sook as Minister of SMEs and Startups, stating, "We hope she will pave new paths for micro-enterprises and create a foundation for their new growth."
On the 24th, through an official statement, the Federation said, "It is a timely policy that Minister Han emphasized the establishment of social and disaster safety nets for micro-enterprises as her top priority in her inaugural address," adding, "We expect Minister Han to open up new opportunities for micro-enterprises."
In particular, the Federation stated, "The nurturing of local commercial districts as regional hubs and the restoration of growth ladders for micro-enterprises can be interpreted as presenting a new growth strategy. Her promise to communicate with micro-enterprises as 'partners' rather than mere policy recipients, and to listen to voices from the field, is a source of great encouragement for micro-enterprises." The Federation continued, "We actively welcome her intention to overcome this unprecedented crisis through public-private cooperation, as demonstrated by her commitment to active on-site communication."
The Federation also emphasized, "Her focus on the 'policy delivery system' appears to reflect her determination to meticulously support even those micro-enterprises that are less informed due to trends of small scale and aging. The Federation will also actively provide support in the private sector."
