Gwangju Employers Federation Urges Swift Implementation of '7+2 Livelihood Recovery' Policy
The Gwangju Employers Federation stated on July 24, "We welcome the fact that Gwangju City is set to actively implement the recently announced '7+2 Livelihood Recovery' policy."
On this day, the Gwangju Employers Federation released a press statement, saying, "To foster the local economy centered on neighborhood businesses, Gwangju City announced plans to inject a total budget of 622.4 billion KRW. The city will swiftly implement policies that citizens can directly feel, such as providing livelihood recovery consumption coupons, expanding the discount rate for the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card, and increasing discounts on the public delivery app."
The main points of the '7+2 Policy' include: ▲Provision of livelihood recovery consumption coupons by Gwangju City and local districts in cooperation with the government ▲A 13% discount on the Gwangju Sangsaeng Card ▲A 5% refund on Onnuri gift certificate spending ▲An additional issuance of 540 million KRW in public delivery app discount coupons ▲One-on-one matching between neighborhood businesses and public institutions to promote consumption in local markets by Gwangju City. These are the seven support policies to be implemented immediately. In addition, there are two tasks to be addressed from next year onward: ▲Building infrastructure for small business owners (worth 15 billion KRW) ▲Establishing a shared complex facility on the site of the former Jeonnam Textile Factory (worth 113 billion KRW).
A representative of the Gwangju Employers Federation said, "This '7+2 Policy' will provide a tangible opportunity for small and medium-sized business owners, small merchants, and neighborhood market vendors who are struggling due to the heat wave and heavy rain damage." The representative also emphasized, "For the local economy to recover, projects such as The Hyundai Gwangju, which is scheduled to break ground in October, and the Gwangju Shinsegae Gwangcheon Terminal Complex Development Project, which is set to conclude preliminary negotiations by the end of the year, must proceed without delay."
