"Jeongsun," Authentically Portraying Women's Lives and Voices, to Be Screened
Sharing Women's Social Experiences and Issues
Through the Medium of Film
Director Jung Ji-hye's film "Jeongsun," which authentically portrays the lives and voices of women, will be screened at Geumsan Cinema Hall 2 in Geumsan County, Chungnam, starting at 9:20 a.m. on August 9.
The 4th Geumsan Women's Film Festival is organized by the Geumsan County Gender Governance Committee. Based on the Geumsan County Gender Equality Basic Ordinance, the festival aims to share women's social experiences and issues through the medium of film and to create a forum for discourse toward a more gender-equal society.
After the film screening, Kim Yeo-jin, head of the Korea Cyber Sexual Violence Response Center, will give a lecture on responding to cyber violence. There will also be a Q&A session to address questions from the audience and provide practical information and opportunities for communication.
Participation in the film festival is open to Geumsan County residents, and applications can be submitted online until August 9.
Lee Sunmi, an official from the Family Policy Division, said, "We hope that the women's film festival will further spread a culture of gender equality in the region," and added, "We look forward to a time to listen to women's voices and reflect together."
