Retail Industry Rallies for Flood Recovery
Lotte, Shinsegae, CJ, Hyundai Department Store Lead Donations
KT&G, Amorepacific, Daiso Join Relief Efforts
The retail industry continues to make donations to support the recovery of areas affected by nationwide heavy rainfall.
According to the retail industry on July 24, Lotte Group donated 1 billion won to aid in the recovery from flood damage and to support displaced residents. Its affiliate, Lotte Distribution Group, delivered emergency relief supplies such as beverages, cup noodles, and energy bars for 2,000 people to evacuation shelters in Sancheong County, South Gyeongsang Province, and Yesan County, South Chungcheong Province through the National Disaster Relief Association. Lotte Wellfood plans to provide food products worth 300 million won to the Korean Red Cross.
Shinsegae Group also donated 500 million won to flood-affected areas and delivered relief supplies. In Sancheong and Hapcheon, which suffered severe flood damage, emergency supplies are being provided through nearby stores. The Emart Jinju branch is delivering food and daily necessities such as bottled water, cup noodles, and Choco Pie to these two areas. For flood victims in the South Chungcheong region, the company supported 500 emergency relief kits, each containing daily necessities such as towels, toothbrushes, underwear, and gym clothes.
CJ is donating 500 million won in relief funds to support displaced residents. Its affiliate, CJ CheilJedang, is providing emergency relief supplies to affected areas, consisting of more than 10,000 products including home meal replacements (HMR) and snacks. Since July 18, CJ Foodville has delivered 7,600 Tous Les Jours breads and beverages to areas severely affected by heavy rains, including Dangjin City, Asan City, Yesan County in South Chungcheong Province, and Sancheong County in South Gyeongsang Province.
KT&G donated 500 million won to facilitate the swift recovery of areas damaged by heavy rainfall and to support displaced residents. KGC Ginseng Corporation, a KT&G subsidiary, will also provide Jeonggwanjang red ginseng products worth 100 million won to residents affected by the floods.
Hyundai Department Store Group donated 300 million won in relief funds to support recovery in affected areas. The group also plans to make additional donations through a fundraising campaign involving customers and employees. Until July 31, it will run the "Flood Relief Neighbor Point Donation Matching Campaign" on its integrated membership H Point application, matching the amount of H Points donated by customers with an equal amount from Hyundai Department Store, and delivering the total to the National Disaster Relief Association.
Amorepacific is donating a total of 300 million won to help communities that suffered significant damage from record-breaking heavy rainfall. The donation will be used for the swift recovery of flood-affected areas in Chungcheong, Jeolla, and South Gyeongsang Provinces, as well as to support displaced residents.

hy·Paldo Chairman Yoon Hojoong is donating 200 million won to support flood victims and delivering daily necessities such as health drinks, instant noodles, and bottled water. Dongseo Food donated 200 million won and about 2,000 boxes of relief supplies to Happy Bean and the National Food Bank, respectively, to aid recovery and support displaced residents in areas affected by heavy rainfall. Asung Daiso, a fixed-price household goods retailer, is donating 200 million won to support the recovery of areas damaged by nationwide torrential rains.
