Gyeonggi Office of Education to Build AI Digital Platform... Enhanced Communication and Reduced Workload Expected
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is set to launch the "Gyeonggi Education Digital Platform" to strengthen communication with students and parents and to reduce the administrative workload of faculty and staff.
The main features of the digital platform include a portal service accessible to all members of the educational community?including students, parents, and staff?a staff collaboration portal service based on artificial intelligence (AI), and an AI-powered conversational service.
The educational community portal service will integrate and provide various types of school-to-home communications, such as newsletters, notifications, and automated consent forms, sent from schools to students and parents.
As a result, academic schedules, assignments, and learning materials?which were previously communicated through handwritten notices or various educational applications individually selected by each school?will now all be available in one place on the digital platform.
Faculty and staff will be able to use the collaboration portal service for video conferencing, document creation, email, cloud drive, and messaging. In particular, the AI features will make tasks such as drafting itineraries for school trips and other document creation much easier.
Through the AI conversational service, users can enter work-related questions into a chat window, and the AI will respond with pre-learned guidelines, manuals, or instructions in a Q&A format.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, together with its project partner the LG CNS consortium, plans to invest approximately 43.3 billion KRW from this month through June next year to build the digital platform, with the goal of launching it within 2025.
