Wanted Man in His 40s Arrested for Unlicensed Drunk Driving After Crashing Into Parked Cars
A man in his 40s, who was wanted by police, was apprehended after crashing his car into three parked vehicles while driving under the influence.
On July 23, Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced that they had booked a man in his 40s, identified as A, without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act.
A is accused of crashing into three parked vehicles in succession at around 4:30 a.m. that day in an alley near an apartment complex in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu. There were no casualties, as no one was inside the parked vehicles at the time.
Police, responding to a citizen's report, checked A's identity and confirmed that he was a wanted person classified as a "B-level" fugitive for failing to pay fines. It was also found that A was heavily intoxicated, with a blood alcohol concentration high enough for license revocation, and that his license had already been revoked due to a previous drunk driving offense.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident involving A.
