Hamyang County Social Organizations Join in Recovery Support for Households Affected by Heavy Rainfall
About 70 People from 5 Organizations Participate
Recovery Work Includes Cleaning Flooded Homes and Removing Mud and Debris
Social organizations in Hamyang County, Gyeongnam have launched recovery support activities to assist households affected by the recent record-breaking heavy rainfall.
The recovery efforts involved five organizations: the Saemaeul Movement Hamyang County Branch, the Bareuge Salgi Movement Hamyang County Council, the Korea Freedom Federation Hamyang County Branch, the Hamyang County Volunteer Association, and the Volunteer Center.

View original imageA total of about 70 volunteers, including organization members, contributed to the recovery work in Hamyang-eup, Hyucheon-myeon, and Yurim-myeon, areas that suffered damage from heavy rainfall and landslides.
The volunteers focused on cleaning up mud and debris that had accumulated around homes and farms due to flooding, and on restoring blocked pathways and drainage systems. They also collected debris and various waste materials that had flowed into farmland and tidied up areas around damaged crops, carrying out environmental cleanup activities to help the community quickly return to normal.
An official from the county stated, "Recently, various damages have occurred, including flooded homes and lost farmland, due to heavy rainfall. Local social organizations have voluntarily stepped up and are playing a significant role in the recovery efforts. We will continue to monitor the situation to prevent further damage and will do our utmost to ensure effective recovery and support by cooperating with relevant agencies and private organizations."
