DB Insurance announced on July 23 that it has begun accepting applications for the seventh round of the 'Transportation·Environment Challenge,' a social contribution project conducted in partnership with the Environment Foundation to discover, support, and nurture social ventures.
The Transportation·Environment Challenge is a project aimed at addressing social issues and creating social value by discovering, supporting, and nurturing social ventures that possess innovative business solutions in the fields of transportation and environment.
Since its launch in 2019, approximately 600 companies have applied to participate. A total of 33 social ventures have been discovered, supported, and nurtured, resulting in business achievements such as the creation of 119 new jobs and 13 investments attracted after participation. Going forward, DB Insurance plans to further strengthen its collaborative system for sustainable growth, including exploring business linkages with the company.
Applications for the seventh round of the DB Insurance Transportation·Environment Challenge can be submitted online via the official website until August 17. Eligible applicants are companies less than seven years old that possess innovative business models aimed at solving social problems related to transportation or the environment.
Companies selected through this recruitment will receive a variety of benefits, including: ▲ 30 million KRW in business funding ▲ one-on-one coaching and accelerating education for each company ▲ participation in a performance-sharing conference ▲ networking programs with previous cohorts ▲ and priority for collaboration with the Environment Foundation.
A DB Insurance representative stated, "Through the Transportation·Environment Challenge, we aim to address social issues that are closely related to the insurance industry," adding, "We will also do our utmost to nurture entrepreneurs who drive fundamental solutions and change for social problems."
