On July 21, Kim Kwangyeol, the mayor of Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province, attended the 'Yeongdeok Yaseong Elementary School Parents Meeting,' where he shared perspectives on the future direction of local education and engaged in discussions about various ideas for improving the educational environment.

View original imageMore than ten people participated in the meeting, including executives from the Yeongdeok Yaseong Elementary School Parents Association, the Green Mothers' Association, and parent representatives from each grade. Mayor Kim listened attentively to the concerns of parents regarding their children's education, as well as to the voices from the field calling for improvements in local education.
During the meeting, parents emphasized the need for academic and career counseling, the expansion of safe cultural and sports facilities, and increased support for youth welfare. Mayor Kim stated his commitment to improving the educational environment in order to prevent the outflow of outstanding local talent and to respond to the risk of regional depopulation.
Mayor Kim Kwangyeol said, "Creating an environment where Yeongdeok's children can grow up safely and happily is the future of our region and the most valuable investment for tomorrow. I will carefully review even the smallest suggestions and actively reflect them in county policies, doing my best to ensure that Yeongdeok's educational environment becomes another reason for parents to remain in the region."
