Insurrection Special Prosecutor Requests Arrest Warrant for Drone Commander Kim Yongdae
The Special Investigation Team for the Insurrection Case (Special Prosecutor Cho Eunseok) requested an arrest warrant for Drone Operations Commander Kim Yongdae on July 20.
On July 20, the special investigation team announced to the media, "At 2 p.m., we requested an arrest warrant for Commander Kim," adding, "There is a reason to secure his custody, so we have applied for the warrant based on the criminal facts that have been confirmed so far."
The special investigation team believes that former President Yoon Sukyeol directly ordered the deployment of drones to Pyongyang through the Drone Operations Command in October last year, bypassing both the Ministry of National Defense and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in order to create a justification for declaring emergency martial law.
