President Lee Jae Myung Dispatches Kim Byungjoo as Special Envoy to Canada, Kim Youngchun to Malaysia
President Lee Jae Myung is dispatching National Assembly member Kim Byungjoo of the Democratic Party of Korea as a special envoy to Canada. For Malaysia, former Minister of Oceans and Fisheries Kim Youngchun has been appointed as special envoy.
On July 20, presidential spokesperson Kang Yoojung announced in a written briefing, "This week, special envoy delegations will be dispatched to Canada and Malaysia on the 22nd."
The head of the special envoy delegation to Canada will be Representative Kim Byungjoo. The delegation will also include Representatives Maeng Sungkyu and Kim Jooyoung. The envoy will convey the South Korean government's commitment to elevating the 'Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' with Canada, focusing on cooperation in security, defense industry, and energy sectors.

The head of the special envoy delegation to Malaysia will be former Minister Kim Youngchun. Representatives Nam Insun and Yoon Kunyoung have been included as delegation members. As Malaysia serves as the ASEAN chair country this year, the delegation plans to discuss 'measures to strengthen Korea-ASEAN cooperation.'
