Uiseong County to Distribute "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons" from July 21... Up to 450,000 Won in Support
A Total Budget of 10.7 Billion Won Allocated
Revitalizing Local Small Business Sales and Stimulating Domestic Demand Expected
Uiseong County in Gyeongbuk will begin accepting applications and distributing the first round of "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons" starting July 21 to help revive the stagnant local economy and boost sales for small business owners.
This initiative is being implemented in conjunction with the government's measures to stimulate consumption, with a total budget of 10.7 billion won allocated for the program.
The consumption coupons will provide between 150,000 and 400,000 won per person, depending on income level. In addition, Uiseong County, which has been designated as a depopulation area, will offer an extra 50,000 won to all residents.
As a result, individuals may receive up to 450,000 won in benefits. The county plans to provide support to 47,908 residents who were registered as of June 18.
The distribution amounts are as follows: 200,000 won per person for general residents, 350,000 won for those in the second-lowest income bracket and single-parent families, and 450,000 won for basic livelihood recipients. The coupons will be automatically distributed the day after application. For residents aged 70 and older, the coupons will be issued as paper-type Uiseong Sarang Gift Certificates to enhance convenience.
Applications can be submitted from July 21 to September 12 either online via card company websites or the dedicated "Uiseong Sarang Gift Certificate" app (chak, and others), or in person at township offices and partner bank branches connected to card companies.
To prevent congestion during the initial application period, a weekday system based on the last digit of the applicant's birth year will be implemented during the first week (July 21-25): Mondays for 1 and 6, Tuesdays for 2 and 7, Wednesdays for 3 and 8, Thursdays for 4 and 9, and Fridays for 5 and 0. Online applications will also be available on weekends.
The coupons can be used until November 30 of this year and are valid only at Uiseong Sarang Gift Certificate-affiliated stores operated by small business owners with annual sales of 3 billion won or less. Any unused balance after the deadline will be automatically forfeited.
Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, stated, "I hope these consumption coupons will provide real help to residents who are struggling due to recent high inflation and economic slowdown," adding, "We will ensure thorough promotion and swift execution so that all residents can benefit."
This distribution of consumption coupons is expected to do more than simply provide support; it is anticipated to revitalize the local consumption cycle and strengthen the foundation of the domestic economy within the region.
