As flooding has occurred in several areas, including Taean, Seosan, Boryeong, and Yesan in South Chungcheong Province, the Salvation Army quickly assessed the situation on the ground through its local network in the region from the early stages of the disaster. In accordance with its principle of "action first, report later," the organization promptly initiated emergency response efforts.
Since the morning of the 17th, the Salvation Army has been providing meals to evacuees temporarily sheltered at the Mopyeongri Village Hall in Dangjin. It has also distributed bottled water, snacks, and hygiene products to temporary shelters in Cheonan, Asan, and other locations. In particular, for residents of Yesan County who were urgently evacuated due to the flooding of the Sapgyocheon River, the Salvation Army provided daily necessities such as chargers, power strips, clothing, and blankets, supporting approximately 700 evacuees.
Starting from the 8th, the Salvation Army plans to launch customized integrated support for flood victims and recovery personnel in Sapgyo, Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, and nearby affected areas. This support will include hygiene products, daily necessities, and emergency relief meal vehicles.
