National Convention to Elect Party Leader Set for August 22
Main Election Scheduled for August 20-21
The People Power Party has decided to hold its national convention to elect the next leadership on August 22 at Osco in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.
The party's Election Commission held its second meeting at the National Assembly on the 18th and finalized the schedule for the convention. Ham Inkyung, spokesperson for the commission, announced, "Candidate registration will take place from the 30th to the 31st of this month, and the main election will be held over two days, from the 20th to the 21st of next month."

Regarding the proposal by Yoon Heesook, the party's Innovation Committee chair, to elect the party leader and others based on 100% public opinion, Secretary-General Jeong explained, "This would require an amendment to the party constitution," and added, "It is not an issue that can be decided by the Election Commission."
