Gwangju Transportation Corporation announced that around 5 p.m. that day, it halted train service on six stations between Hwajeong Station and Airport Station due to flooding in the concourse of Sangmu Station.
Currently, trains are operating normally in both directions between Nongseong Station, Culture Center Station, and Sotae Station on Metro Line 1. In the opposite direction toward Pyeongdong Station, trains are only running back and forth at three stations, including Songjeong Station and Dosan Station.
Gwangju Transportation Corporation stated that service on the suspended sections will resume as soon as on-site recovery is completed. The corporation also asked citizens to use alternative transportation such as city buses.
