Damyang County to Host 'Ssudam Ssudam Night Market' to Brighten Summer Nights
Held Every Saturday for Three Weeks Starting July 19
At Damidam Art District and Damyang Market Area
Damyang County in South Jeolla Province, led by Governor Jeong Cheolwon, will host the unique nighttime cultural program '2025 Ssudam Ssudam Night Market' every Saturday for three weeks starting from July 19. The event will take place in the Damidam Art District and throughout the Damyang Market area.
The 'Ssudam Ssudam Night Market' will be held a total of three times: on July 19, July 26, and August 2. This night market is an innovative project designed to revitalize local tourism and promote cultural convergence. Under the slogan "A place where everyone gets the green light," the event will feature a wide range of programs that embrace various generations and cultures.
Key highlights of the event will include: ▲ Unique events to beat the heat ▲ A global singing festival with multicultural families ▲ The latest AR experience, 'Metaverse Archer' ▲ A water gun festival ▲ A magical bubble show, among others.
In particular, food booths operated by local merchants and the '1,000-won Beer' event are expected to provide visitors with a special delight. The county has formed a professional planning team and has been meticulously preparing the event, aiming to develop the night market into a sustainable tourism product rather than just a one-time event.
On July 17, Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "The Ssudam Ssudam Night Market will become an important cultural platform to showcase the charms of Damyang nationwide," adding, "We will make it a festival that both local residents and tourists can enjoy together."
