Ansan City Launches Official Website for "Ansan Line Underground Project"
Comprehensive Development Information and Citizen Communication at a Glance
On July 17, Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it has launched an official website for the "Ansan Line Underground Integrated Development Project" in order to provide related information and expand communication channels with citizens during the project's implementation.
The website consists of sections introducing the background and vision of the Ansan Line underground project, explanations of the stages of the railway undergrounding process, an overview of the project, plans for securing project funding, a frequently asked questions (FAQ) section, and a channel for collecting citizen feedback.
Given that this project is a long-term initiative expected to span over 10 years, Ansan City plans to enhance public trust by transparently recording and disclosing project-related materials and progress through the operation of the website.
Additionally, the city intends to actively incorporate the diverse opinions submitted by citizens into the project.
The "Ansan Line Underground Integrated Development Project" has been selected as a priority railway undergrounding project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. It is a large-scale initiative to move the 5.12-kilometer section of the above-ground railway between Cho Station and Jungang Station underground, and to create a new space above it equivalent in size to about 100 soccer fields.
Through this project, the city plans to develop a compact city on the upper section of the underground railway in the station area, using it as a catalyst for urban growth.
