All funds raised will be used to support energy-vulnerable groups in Gwangju and Jeonnam, including providing cooling expenses and summer blankets to help them cope with heat waves.
Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae raised approximately 1.12 billion won in cash and about 118 million won in goods, for a total of around 1.239 billion won. Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae raised a total of about 2.53 billion won.
This year's Gwangju campaign was conducted over 35 days in collaboration with Gwangju City and its five districts, with a focused fundraising campaign for energy-vulnerable groups, adding further significance.
In addition, during the campaign period, four new members (Cho Youngcheol, Kim Daewon, Yoon Honghyun, and Kim Ryul) joined the "Honor Society," a group of individual high-value donors who contribute more than 100 million won, leading the spread of a culture of sharing in the local community. Corporations also actively participated in donations.
In Jeonnam, the amount raised increased by 100 million won compared to last year's total of about 2.43 billion won. This year's campaign is particularly meaningful as it was conducted over a period 10 days shorter than last year's campaign.
Considering that both this year and last year, the fundraising target for the Uri Jeonnam Hope Summer ChakChakChak Sharing Campaign was set at 1.7 billion won, both years far exceeded their goals, with this year achieving 149% of the target.
Roh Dongil, chairman of Jeonnam Sarangui Yeolmae, said, "I sincerely thank the people of Jeonnam for practicing warm sharing despite difficult economic conditions," and added, "I hope that this spirit of good sharing will spread warmth throughout the region and that a healthy culture of neighbors caring for neighbors will continue to grow."
