Andree Tribe of Shincheonji Church Strengthens Emergency Response Capabilities to Save Lives
Practical CPR Training Focused on Hands-On Experience
The Andree Tribe of the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, recently conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and airway obstruction response training for a total of 241 participants on the 5th floor of the Andree Training Center, working to promote a culture of safety that saves lives.
This training was organized by the Health and Welfare Department of the Shincheonji General Assembly and carried out in cooperation with the Health and Welfare Departments of five churches under the Andree Tribe (Andree, Ulsan, Jinju, Changwon, and Gimhae). Following the Matthias Tribe, John Tribe, and Thomas Tribe, this was the fourth session, with a focus on 'improving the ability to respond immediately in emergencies.' The participants were divided into five groups and received practice-oriented training.
The training was led by eight staff members, two professional instructors, and thirty-one assistants. It consisted of a 45-minute theoretical session and demonstration by assistants, followed by 60 minutes of individual practice. Participants engaged in repeated two-hour practice sessions using a chest compression mannequin, a training automated external defibrillator (AED), and a Heimlich maneuver practice mannequin.
The head of the General Assembly Health and Welfare Department explained, "The significance of this training lies in developing individuals who can respond to emergencies through hands-on experience rather than theoretical knowledge. On site, we focused on learning through repeated practice, and the program was structured so that participants would be able to save precious lives in real situations."
Actual participants responded enthusiastically. One participant shared, "At first, I was nervous, but after practicing, my vague fears disappeared and I gained confidence. I feel a great sense of pride in having learned a skill that could save someone's life."
A representative from Andree Church stated, "This training focused on systematically building the capacity of members to respond quickly in emergency situations. We will continue to value life and work together with our members to create a safe community by providing various ongoing educational programs."
