Gu Jahong Appointed as New Director of Mokwon University Institute of Culture and Arts
Mokwon University announced on July 15 that Gu Jahong (pictured), a master craftsman of string instrument making, has been appointed as the new director of the Mokwon University Institute of Culture and Arts.

View original imageDirector Gu is a maestro who graduated from the Department of Orchestral Instruments (Viola major) at the Mokwon University College of Music. He holds a diploma from the Cremona International School of Violin Making in Italy, one of the world’s top three string instrument making schools, as well as diplomas in Restoration and Conservation, and Arts Management from the Donizetti Conservatory.
Currently, Director Gu serves as CEO of Vinoclassic Co., Ltd., which produces handcrafted string instruments using traditional Italian methods and promotes sharing in culture and the arts. He is also co-representative of the Daejeon Cultural Policy Forum.
The university expects that Director Gu will drive change and synergy at the Institute of Culture and Arts, based on his accumulated cultural and artistic sensibility on the international stage, educational expertise, and understanding of cultural policy and arts management.
