Through this agreement, the two institutions will pursue a results-oriented cooperation model that includes: mutually proposing defense R&D projects applicable to naval operations; planning and reviewing projects to ensure the early establishment of the research center; cooperating on maritime experiments to demonstrate research technologies; building a collaborative system to secure outstanding personnel; and generating academic achievements in the defense industry sector.
The Naval Operations Command and Pusan National University plan to strengthen national defense research capabilities by focusing on advanced maritime operational technologies and to establish a research foundation that contributes to the overall defense industry ecosystem.
Choi Jaewon, President of Pusan National University, stated, "This agreement marks the starting point for strengthening research capabilities and nurturing talent in the field of defense science and technology," adding, "We hope to see joint research and technology exchange become more active, centered on the Defense Technology Research Center."
