Chungnam Development Corporation Strengthens Safety Inspections for Construction Workers Vulnerable to Heatwaves
On-Site Inspections Focused on Customized Checklists and the Five Major Heatwave Rules
Chungnam Development Corporation is strengthening its safety management system at construction sites in the province to respond to the summer heatwave.
The corporation announced on July 14 that it will conduct intensive inspections throughout the month of July, visiting all construction sites to check whether proper protection measures for on-site workers are being implemented.
This inspection will be carried out based on the corporation's own "site-specific customized checklist."
In particular, the corporation plans to closely examine whether regular breaks are provided during heatwaves, whether outdoor work is suspended when necessary, and whether response guidelines for each heatwave level are being properly applied.
Additionally, the corporation will check compliance with the "five major heatwave rules," which include the provision of cool water, shade, rest, work uniforms made of cooling materials, and an emergency response system, with a focus on ensuring workers' health and safety.
President Kim Byungkeun stated, "Since the construction industry is the most vulnerable to industrial accidents during the summer, on-site safety and health management is extremely important," and added, "We will thoroughly manage the sites with the utmost priority on the safety and health of workers on the front lines."
