Gyeongbuk Province has ordered all relevant departments and city and county offices to make every effort to respond to heavy rain, as very strong rainfall is expected across the entire Gyeongbuk region from July 13 to 14.
Lee Cheolwoo, Governor of Gyeongbuk, instructed, "The province will dispatch safety support officers, composed of directors from each department, to city and county offices to assist with resident evacuations and the operation of village patrol teams, and to maintain a 24-hour emergency response system."
He also requested city and county offices to "switch to a resident evacuation administrative system, carry out preemptive evacuations of residents in areas at risk of casualties, fully operate village patrol teams for advance monitoring of dangerous areas, and conduct intensive inspections and controls of hazardous facilities."
Governor Lee further urged, "Residents should continue to closely monitor weather updates through TV, radio, and other channels, and exercise caution during outdoor activities, as heavy rain may cause damage."
