This program is designed as a family cooking experience using domestic wheat, aiming to promote communication among family members and to provide children with an opportunity to become more familiar with local agricultural products.
The education will be held six times in total from August 5 to 13 at the Lifestyle and Culture Education Hall on the first floor of the Agricultural Technology Center. The curriculum includes hands-on classes such as: ▲Exploring local agricultural products and domestic wheat ▲Four-color tofu cookies made with domestic wheat ▲Spoonable blueberry domestic wheat scones ▲Making domestic wheat pizza bread. Notably, this program will be led by female farmers who directly cultivate crops, adding significance to communication between urban and rural communities.
The program is open to 48 families residing in Gwangju (8 families per session, 2 to 4 members per family). Applications will be accepted online through the "Gwangju City Baro Reservation" website from July 21 to 25. For further details, refer to the Education Section?Education Guide on the Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center website or contact the Convergence Support Team.
Kim Sira, Director of the Gwangju Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "This hands-on education will provide children with valuable opportunities to see, touch, and taste local agricultural products, while also offering families meaningful time to communicate through cooking together. We plan to continue expanding awareness of the value of local agricultural products through sustainable education programs in which both citizens and farmers can participate."
