For the first-grade students, Pukyong National University students introduced their respective majors, including Early Childhood Education, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Information and Communication Engineering, and Fisheries Life Medicine. They explored career paths related to each major together with the students and focused on enhancing the middle school students' understanding of the majors through a Q&A session.
For the second-grade students, six university students from the Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of the Education Donation Corps participated and engaged students' interest and guided their career exploration through activities such as making Peking opera masks, experiencing branding marketing, creating keyrings, basic coding, and quiz activities.
Director Lee Sanggil said, "This program was a valuable opportunity for university and middle school students to seriously consider and communicate about their careers through the lens of academic majors," and added, "We will continue to expand the education donation ecosystem so that local youth can experience a variety of career paths."
The Pukyong National University Education Donation Hub Support Center was established in 2023, designated by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity. It continues to operate customized programs for kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Daegu, and Gyeongbuk, fostering a culture of educational sharing based in the region.
