Sung Heeyeob Appointed as Deputy Mayor for Future Innovation in Busan
The city of Busan announced on July 9 that it plans to appoint Sung Heeyeob, Senior Policy Advisor, as the new Deputy Mayor for Future Innovation.
After completing procedures such as the deliberation by the Busan City Personnel Committee, the new Deputy Mayor Sung is scheduled to officially begin his term in July.
Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, Advisor Sung has served as a key policy aide to Mayor Park Hyungjoon, participating in the direction and strategy formulation of city administration, and is regarded as the right person to stably lead the city government in the latter half of the term.
Through this appointment, the city aims to make the achievements of the 8th administration's major policies more visible and accelerate the establishment of Busan's future strategies.
The nominee, Sung, graduated from Seoul National University and has served as the Public Relations Specialist at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Special Advisor for External Cooperation to the Busan Mayor, and CEO of Busan United Technology Holdings. He is recognized as a practical policy planner who has provided insights into urban policy and social change through books such as "Silent Revolution" and "Overview of Civilization Theory."
