Busan Port Authority and 53rd Division Safeguard Busan Port... National Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee Convened
On July 9, Busan Port Authority (BPA), together with the 53rd Division's Busan Brigade, held a National Critical Infrastructure Protection Committee meeting in the North Port area of Busan Port to discuss measures for establishing an integrated protection system.
This meeting was organized to strengthen the cooperation system among the public sector, private sector, military, police, and fire departments, and to review practical protection plans in response to the changing security environment and the threats of disasters and terrorism.
Approximately 60 officials from related organizations attended the meeting. They continued field-focused discussions by touring key facilities in the North Port area aboard a BPA port guide vessel.
The participants reviewed the roles and responsibilities of each organization and focused on discussing cooperation measures for rapid response in the event of a crisis.
Song Sangkeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "Busan Port is a core foundation of the national economy and a security hub," and added, "We will strengthen cooperation with relevant organizations to solidify the integrated protection system."
