Incheon Port Authority Promotes 'Golden Harbor' Investment to Hotel Industry
Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced on July 9 that it held an investment promotion briefing session for members of the Korea Hotel Association regarding the 'Golden Harbor' project.
Golden Harbor is a development project to create a marine tourism destination that combines leisure, recreation, and shopping on 11 general commercial lots totaling 427,000 square meters in the hinterland of the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal.
IPA organized the briefing session to attract hotels to adjacent lots and create synergy, as the development of a European-style spa complex is now in full swing on some of the project sites previously sold.
The project site offers optimal accessibility, being within one hour by car from Seoul and within 30 minutes from Incheon International Airport. It also benefits from a hinterland population of 26 million in the Seoul metropolitan area. In addition, it is close to the Incheon Port International Passenger Terminal, which connects to the top 10 cities in northern China, as well as the cruise terminal that accommodates mega cruise ships.
In particular, the outstanding views of the Incheon Bridge, located across the open sea, are expected to help establish Golden Harbor as a popular marine tourism destination for both domestic and international visitors in the future.
IPA signed a sales contract in 2023 with the Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority for a portion of the Golden Harbor site (99,000 square meters), and is currently working to identify potential investors and attract investment for the remaining land.
